Supadance

Supadance events are slightly different from other dancing competitions in that each attending dance school puts forward a team of 4 couples within a particular age group.  The team parades together before and after the 'match' and each couple will dance 4 different dances - 2 ballroom and 2 latin which are known in advance. This generates huge interschool support as each couple contributes to the teams overall position.

There are 4 matches spaced from April through to October, with a extra preliminary round in March to decide on division placings of all the teams.

There are also usually a range of couples competitions on the day where trophies are up for grabs. 

The teams are invited to the Supadance Finals weekend which takes place in November.  So far JanSu has chosen not to attend the finals as it clashes with the Freestyle finals in Blackpool. This was again the case for 2009 & 2010. We felt it was too much to ask a team of eight dancers and their families to commit to such great expenditure in the current climate and having discussed the finer details with the Supadance board, believe it was the best decision.
